The Bachtell Insurance Agency was started in 1923 by Bernard Bachtell, who was joined by his son, Ross L. Bachtell in 1955. J. William (Bill) Sinnott joined the firm in 1960 as a partner, subsequent to Bernard Bachtell's retirement. The agency enjoyed significant growth and incorporated in 1978 as the Bachtell & Sinnott Agency, Inc. J. William Sinnott continues in the agency as Vice-President and Secretary.

Steven Sinnott was employed as a producer in 1981 after earning a degree at the University of Iowa and serving as a Commercial Lines Underwriter at AID Insurance (now Allied Group) in Des Moines, IA, for three years. Steven Sinnott became President of the agency in 1995.

Thomas Sinnott is a Commercial Lines and Personal Lines Agent. Tom was employed as a producer in 1992. He earned a degree at Iowa State University and was employed as a Personal Lines Underwriter at Allied Group in Des Moines, IA, for four years.

Daniel Sinnott is the Commercial Lines Manager. Dan became employed as a producer in 1993. He earned a degree from the University of Northern Iowa and was employed as a claims adjuster at Allied for four years.

In May of 1999, the Bachtell & Sinnott Agency was incorporated as The Sinnott Agency, Inc., a full service insurance agency actively seeking new clients.

While continued growth is a goal of the agency's planning, service to clients has always been, and will remain, the primary thrust of our daily activities.
